Backflow testing, from the assembly to the certificate
FlowShield is built for certified technicians who test backflow prevention assemblies on site and have to produce a report a water purveyor will accept.
What it does
Records a test that holds up
Enter readings for check valves, the relief valve or air inlet, and line pressure. The form asks for exactly what the assembly type requires: a reduced pressure assembly needs its relief valve reading, a double check does not. Pass or fail is worked out from the readings, never typed in.
Produces the certificate
Every report exports as a one-page PDF carrying your company logo, the technician's certification number, and the gauge that took the readings. The gauge and technician are frozen onto the report when it is saved, so a certificate handed over next year still says what actually measured the test.
Corrects without erasing
A mistake is corrected by a new report that supersedes the old one. Both remain. That is what makes the history worth keeping.
Keeps customers told
Due date reminders, test results, non-compliance notices and repair updates go out by email on a schedule you set, in wording you can edit.
Works where the assemblies are
Everything is stored on the phone first and syncs when there is signal, because backflow assemblies are in basements and vaults.
Getting it
FlowShield is an iPhone app, requiring iOS 17 or later. Five tests are free per workspace; a subscription lifts the limit. Reading, exporting and printing your existing reports are never limited either way.
